Coinbase Partnership Launch

Creative Direction, Strategy, Content Production

Not every day you get to fly 10,000 feet and experience zero gravity with some of the world’s top streamers in esports and your lovely coworkers. Coinbase wanted to make a big splash with their first dip into the world of esports and wanted to be welcomed with open arms. (Remember how rough the waters were about web3 and crypto in 2021?) We filmed an entire partnership announcement video and behind-the-scenes content as we fought the challenging waves of zero gravity.

I had the privilege of leading creative strategy art direction and social copywriting (for both accounts and players) for our Team Liquid x Coinbase partnership. To ease them into the esports realm, we created Coinbase-sponsored Q+As, the highest payout Smash Smash Brothers tournament we named Coinbox, educational materials, and an ambassador program of esports influencers.

The Twitter announcement post alone garnered 4 million organic impressions.

We had our selected ambassadors post teasers leading up to the reveal.

Any video, social post, or piece of content our fans interacted with would count towards rewards in Team Liquid’s Liquid Plus program. Just by being a fan, they can redeem points for prizes and apparel.

The Next Wave is a competition to search for the next member of Team Liquid. 50,000 gamers applied and competed and we created a 6 part video series documenting the journey.
